A roaring twenties festive season at Jumeirah Vittaveli
Join a Christmas Eve gala and a New Year’s Eve party worthy of The Great Gatsby
Looking to escape to tropical shores this festive season? Enjoy a barefoot celebration at Jumeirah Vittaveli in the Maldives.
Festivities
The tree is as of yet top secret, previous installations saw a floating tree, a tree made of coconut, recycled bicycles and more! Festive season would not be complete without carols and the Vittaveli in house choir will delight guests with traditional tunes on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We also hope for Santa Claus himself to give us a visit, in past years, he has been riding in on a jet ski as well as a catamaran, carrying a bag full of gifts for younger guests. New Year’s Eve will be celebrated in true Great Gatsby style – the roaring 1920s will come alive through performances by Charleston dancers, acrobats, illusionists and more. At midnight, we will ring in the New Year with a colossal firework over the lagoon, and a DJ and live band will close out the night.
Culinary delights
From lavish Christmas and New Year’s Eve gala dinners, to extended brunch the following day for late risers, Louis Roederer Cristal champagne dinners at overwater wine library Cuvée, and oyster and caviar nights at Fenesse, to tapas paired with rosé wines at MU Beach Bar and Grill, and after dinner whisky tastings at underground salon UnderChic. There will also be an Indian wine tasting menu at award winning signature restaurant Swarna, and a specialty gin cocktail menu as well as daily sparkling B4T afternoon high tea at our main bar B4R.
Something for everyone
The Kuda Koli Kids Club will treat children to traditional gingerbread house making, or festive island treasure hunts, the spa invites for Aqua Zumba, Aerial Yoga, or dedicated festive wellness packages, the water sports centre puts on starry night sky snorkeling, while sustainable activities include coral planting for the new year in a unique twist on new year’s resolutions.
A special highlight this year is the residency of ‘Metholistic’ Guru Isaac Vidjrakou from 23 December until 8 January. Isaac will offer guests who are looking to disconnect over the holiday season a range of practical techniques to help encourage mindfulness and wellbeing in everyday life including masterclasses in Breathing, Meditation and Yoga, as well as his signature Saki Massage.
In line with our dedication to sustainability, we are proud to announce that the White Fire exhibition by award-winning photographer Mohamed Azmeel will be available for viewing from 20 December – 10 January. Housed in a beautiful purpose built gallery by the sea, this unique photographic exhibition showcases the impact of climate change on the fragile coral ecosystem.
