And it is precisely this invisibility, made of emotions, details, gestures, and subtle sensations, that Maurizio Galimberti, the renowned Milanese photographer, captures through his Polaroid mosaics, whether portraits or landscapes.
The collaboration with Maurizio Galimberti began in 2011, the year he presented the work Blessed Virgin of Pompeii, marking the start of a long-lasting relationship with the cultural and artistic environment of Jumeirah Capri Palace and the island of Capri. In 2024, to celebrate this enduring friendship and the deep inspiration the island of Capri offers the artist, Galimberti was welcomed back to the hotel for a special artist residency. During this time, he created the foundation of a new series of exclusive mosaics designed to reveal the composite and invisible soul of the iconic culinary spaces within the property.
The first of these four mosaics is dedicated to aMaRe Capri, the seaside osteria overlooking the Blue Grotto, where Neapolitan tradition comes to life through the signature pizzas of Franco Pepe and the most beloved dishes of Campanian cuisine. Hands kneading, the details of a dish, the embrace of the landscape: everything becomes a tale of conviviality and suspended beauty, a promise of happiness to be savored with all the senses.
