From the cherished lanes of the city’s Hay Al Fahidi neighbourhood, Feryal Al Bastaki has emerged as a celebrated voice in Emirati artistry. Her creations are deeply inspired by her heritage, a beautiful confluence of tradition and modern elegance. She breathes new life into age-old crafts including the intricate hand-woven braiding or embroidery known as Talli, the soulful patterns of Sadu textiles, and the delicate weaving of date palm fronds known as Al Khous. 

 

Her partnership with Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab gracefully spotlights Emirati culture and Dubai's enduring connection to the sea. Inspired by the resort's visionary design and refined details, her creations emanate a sophisticated grandeur, a harmonious reflection of Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab's contemporary elegance. As part of our collaboration, Al Bastaki’s watercolour artwork "Flow" was inspired by the rhythmic beauty of Dubai's waves and the sleek lines of Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab's super yacht-like form. This artwork completes an evocative nautical narrative alongside the sail of Jumeirah Burj Al Arab and the wave of Jumeirah Beach Hotel. Transformed into exclusive silk scarves, elegant twillies, and refined pocket squares, these creations offer our guests a memorable keepsake and a tangible connection to the carefree spirit of the sea.

 

 

Alongside these creations, London-based fashion designer Roksanda Ilinčić has also taken inspiration to create a bespoke collection of hand-finished scarves, where every element speaks to the shared language of design and emotion. “This collaboration, born from a genuine friendship, feels incredibly special to me,” explains Ilinčić. “As a London-based womenswear brand since 2005, my design ethos centers around a fluid architecture – like buildings without walls, embracing light and space. I strive to capture the emotional essence of that freedom in my pieces. The idea of home as our ultimate sanctuary deeply resonates with me.”

 

“For this collection, I wanted to weave in all those elements while also drawing inspiration from the captivating architecture of Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, Dubai, and the rich heritage of its surrounding landscape. The natural world and the scenes observed from above, in flight, became integral to the design process. My aim was to truly connect with this place and translate its spirit through both shape and colour. My scarves, while clearly echoing the cultural nuances of both the UAE and Europe, are also designed to be cherished as standalone pieces of art that can be framed as a token of a fond memory.”

 

Emirati designer AlReem Al Mansouri also lends her cultivated vision to Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, presenting a bespoke collection that speaks to Arabian elegance and profound cultural understanding. Drawing inspiration from cherished moments within the Jumeirah family and the resort’s calming natural setting, her silk creations evoke the golden tones of desert landscapes, the delicate transitions of twilight skies, and the graceful movement of the ocean. With a dedication to narrative through artistry, AlReem has crafted expressive prints and chosen fine, locally sourced materials that capture the sophisticated character of this destination. Celebrated for her signature interpretation of Arabic calligraphy, Nadine has also ventured into new artforms, including an exclusive tableware collection in collaboration with the distinguished French porcelain artisans, Bernardaud.

 

 

Central to her designs is the Arabic word Maraheb, a beautiful merging of Marhaba, meaning welcome, and Hubb, meaning love.
